We are thrilled to be part of ‘The Great Elephant Migration’ – a global fundraiser created by @elephantfamily in which over 100 life-size elephant sculptures will tour US cities to share their coexistence stories, inspiring us all to share space with elephants.
Each elephant is paired with a conservation NGO as well as an influential female Matriarch. We are honoured to be one of those chosen charity partners, and very grateful to Virginia McKenna DBE for accepting our invitation to join the Matriarchy and represent Pangea in this wonderful initiative. Virginia is the co-founder of Born Free, one of the founding members of Pangea. She has advocated for a large-scale European elephant sanctuary like Pangea for many years, to offer zoos and circuses a much-needed solution to rehome their elephants in need.
“Protecting and conserving elephants in the wild is a top priority and we must never forget those in captivity. That’s why I am supporting The Great Elephant Migration exhibit’s positive message of conservation and coexistence. This initiative not only raises funds for biodiversity protection but also promotes efforts to deliver a harmonious relationship between humans and elephants. I truly believe in The Great Elephant Migration’s vision of a world where wildlife thrives alongside humans, a vision that has been central to my work with the Born Free Foundation for over 40 years.”
