Nam Chok, a partially sighted elephant in her sixties who has been located at a trekking camp giving tourist rides for decades has been released and relocated to a sanctuary.
She is now able to enjoy some freedom and space as well as receiving expert medical care to help improve the health concerns she has due to the years she has spent in captivity.
We are pleased to hear the news that another elephant has been relocated out of captivity, into a more natural habitat where she can graze amongst trees and lakes. We hope Nam Chok settles into her new home and goes from strength to strength in her new environment.
