Land in sight for Pangea

Evora Alentejo

After an intensive two-year search, we have finally found our ideal site.

Over 90 properties were evaluated across Portugal, before three were shortlisted and taken through a rigorous and lengthy process of environmental screening, economic valuations, government consultations, and vendor negotiations.

Our site of choice is a thousand-acre estate, located in Evora, Alentejo. It has everything we were looking for; privacy, abundant water, rolling hills, and diverse habitat. There are several dams, a running stream and a mix of grasslands, wood, and scrubland.

Despite the remote location, it falls outside Portugal’s protected areas which could have prevented construction or the introduction of elephants.

The areas that have been degraded from cattle grazing and eucalyptus cultivation will be restored to create a haven for both elephants and native wildlife.

We look forward to sharing more news with you shortly.
